Grandma Bonnie (who has been a regular wellness patient here for over a year) brought her grand daughter Molli to us (who is visiting for the summer). Molli was suffering from projectile vomiting, constipation and multiple digestive issues when she was brought into the office. Her grandmother’s goal was to get her off of medications and her back to functioning like a normal kid. Since beginning care Molli has not vomited once, is now going to the bathroom regularly and is almost off of all her prescription medications. She is well on her way to functioning at 100% and is enjoying her summer at the beach!
Carole and Jerry have been patients at Family First for over 16 years. They love getting their weekly maintenance adjustments, and if they know they’re going out of town they make sure and get their adjustments before they go! They always bring such joy and fun to our office and we appreciate them as patients!

Betty and Fran are dear sisters that have been patients at Family First for years! They bring such a spark into the office when they come in: always positive, ready for their adjustment and therapies, and also they enjoy coming to our classes that we offer monthly. They are always ready to better their health and in any way that they can. We are thankful for you two sweet ladies and so glad you cherish your weekly chiropractic adjustments!
We are so glad that Kyra is a patient at our office. As a growing teen, her body is making many changes from growth spurts to mental developments and her adjustments are very important to her body. We are thankful that her parents are also patients and see the value in getting their daughter adjusted regularly.
You might not feel that this is a good enough reason to drink water. Maybe this will seem like a better reason for you.
Water makes up about two thirds of our body. Without water we would not be able to survive.
Every day our body loses water in normal processing, in chemical reactions, when we go to the bathroom (both urination and defecation), sweating, and small amounts each time we exhale.
Water is important for temperature regulation, lubricating your joints, protecting our SPINAL CORD and other sensitive tissue, and as stated earlier, removing waste from the body.
It is important for us to drink water or eat foods that our bodies can convert to water, every day.
When the weather is extremely hot our bodies lose water faster than it normally does. When we are exercising we lose water faster too.
If you’re exercising when the weather is hot, it is even more important to make sure water is part of your daily routine. This means drinking water even when you don’t feel thirsty.
Hydration comes from drinking water or something that adds water content to your body.
Fluids that contain caffeine can act as a diuretic and cause your body to lose water content instead of gain water, especially if you are drinking more than 40 ounces per day.
Sodas (regular or diet), coffee or teas that have caffeine should not be considered hydrating, especially during the hot weather.
According to the Institute of Medicine women need about nine cups of fluid and for men it is about 13 cups of fluid daily.
During the summer months enjoy the weather and stay hydrated by drinking water every day, thirsty or not.

Just How Much Vitamin D do we need?
Just 15 minutes of sun at mid-day in the summer is sufficient. Of course, this varies based on how much skin is exposed (darker skinned people may need more time), the time of the day (mid-day is best for vitamin D), altitude (the higher the altitude you are at the more vitamin D your body can make), cloud cover, etc. During the winter, it’s hard to get out in the cold.
