Cardiovascular Health & Chiropractic Care

There are several ways to lower the risks of heart attack, cardiovascular disease, blood vessel diseases, and stroke. Although it is important to watch the kind of food that goes into the body, many studies have shown that it may be equally as important to pay attention to the timing of meals. Here are four ways to boost cardiovascular health:

1. Meal Planning.
According to a statement released by the American Heart Association, planning the meals and snacks that you have throughout the day can help lower the risks of cardiovascular disease. This is due to the metabolic rates of the body throughout the day.

2. Eating Breakfast Daily.
Several studies have found correlations between increased cardiovascular health and people who consume breakfast regularly. There is a much lower risk of high cholesterol and high blood pressure associated with those who consume breakfast daily.

3. Lowering Food Consumption in the Evening.
At night it is harder for the body to digest and process various foods. Many studies have shown that this may be due to a decreased metabolic rate in the evening. For this reason, lowering the amount of food eaten in the evening can lead to better cardiovascular health.

4. Visiting your Chiropractor Regularly
As many of you know, chiropractic can help other things besides neck and back pain. It helps the body function at its highest potential and if a part of your spinal cord is “blocking the flow” to your heart you can suffer from many different heart issues such as heart disease, high blood pressure, and much more. Talk to one of our doctor’s today about how chiropractic can help with your cardiovascular health and start living to your full potential!

Using these methods to carefully plan meals and snacks for each day can help reduce the many risk factors surrounding cardiovascular disease including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity, and insulin complications such as insulin resistance.

He comes in with his dad who understands the importance of chiropractic care for Henry to be able to competitively participate in MMA fighting and wrestling. He originally came in for low back pain that was affecting his ability to exercise and practice. November Chiropatients of the Month

Isabela started coming to Family First a little over 6 months ago with her mom who was concerned about her recurring ear infections, fevers, and acid reflux. Hoping to find some relief from her symptoms, Isabela’s mom makes sure she keeps all her appointments and continues to recognize all of the progress Isabela is making with her chiropractic care!

Maria has been a loyal Family First patient for over five years. She originally came to see us with neck and back pain and stiffness. Maria continues to get adjusted because she understands and appreciates the benefits of chiropractic care for wellness and maintenance.

Pumpkin Seeds

When carving pumpkins as a child, my family and I would always scoop out the pumpkin seeds and roast them in the oven until they were nice and crispy. Such a fun, easy snack to make with your own kids now. How do you enjoy your pumpkin seeds or do you make a soup with the leftover pumpkin?

September Chiropatients

Jessica has been a patient since March 2017 and is 14 years old. She comes in with her whole family and her mom understands corrective care for entire family. She originally came in for neck pain headaches and back pain. It was affecting school, ability to exercise, ability to focus in her studies and she now is back to living normal life as a kid should be!

Jim and Bonnie have been patients for over a year. They are the grandparents of Molli and Maddy who were previous chirokids! They have been under chiropractic care their whole life and have continued their care at our office! They attend as many health classes as possible and are avid participants in their home health and wellness.

August Chiropatients of the Month

When Mrs. Norma walks through the office doors, she brings such a burst of joy and energy to the office. She has been a patient for many years and has seen such a huge change in her spinal health. She used to suffer from chronic neck and lower back pain and tried every method possible to relieve pain. But it wasn’t until she started coming to Family First that she saw a difference and is for the most part pain free! We love success stories!

Last month Mandolin’s sister, Mollie, was our chirokid of the month. Mandolin saw the drastic improvements her sister was having by getting adjustments and she wanted the same for herself while she was here for the summer. She is getting checked weekly for wellness and proper development as her body grows! We love having this family in the office and so happy they’re here for the summer. We are glad we could get them feeling better while they are in town.

July Chiropatients of the Month

Grandma Bonnie (who has been a regular wellness patient here for over a year) brought her grand daughter Molli to us (who is visiting for the summer).  Molli was suffering from projectile vomiting, constipation and multiple digestive issues when she was brought into the office.  Her grandmother’s goal was to get her off of medications and her back to functioning like a normal kid.  Since beginning care Molli has not vomited once, is now going to the bathroom regularly and is almost off of all her prescription medications.  She is well on her way to functioning at 100% and is enjoying her summer at the beach!

Carole and Jerry have been patients at Family First for over 16 years. They love getting their weekly maintenance adjustments, and if they know they’re going out of town they make sure and get their adjustments before they go! They always bring such joy and fun to our office and we appreciate them as patients!

June Chiropatients of the Month

Betty and Fran are dear sisters that have been patients at Family First for years! They bring such a spark into the office when they come in: always positive, ready for their adjustment and therapies, and also they enjoy coming to our classes that we offer monthly. They are always ready to better their health and in any way that they can. We are thankful for you two sweet ladies and so glad you cherish your weekly chiropractic adjustments!

We are so glad that Kyra is a patient at our office. As a growing teen, her body is making many changes from growth spurts to mental developments and her adjustments are very important to her body. We are thankful that her parents are also patients and see the value in getting their daughter adjusted regularly.
